Max began playing piano at the age of 7 and started performing in his early teens. He immersed himself in music and, in particular, developed a love of the Italian/American swing legends and the timeless jazz standards of the great American songbook.
His love of swing started at home, where the soundtrack to family gatherings featured That’s Amore and Volare, all sung by the family, with gusto! His appreciation for ‘proper’ music grew as he discovered the great vocalists and pure style of the Rat Pack. After meeting Harry Connick, Jnr in the late 90s, he was inspired by the big band sound which shaped his performance style appreciated by many today.
